Emperor Aquatics pre-cut filter pads are easily fitted to almost any filter simply by measuring the intended application and then cutting the desired amount of media. This woven medium is durable and can be cleaned and reused several times. Media is 1 1/4" thick and is easily cut with large scissors or a box- cutting knife.

Emperor Aquatics Filter Felt is extremely effective at trapping and holding waterborne solid waste. Arrange Filter Felt inside the filter so that the water to be filtered is forced through the felt and is unable to bypass it. Filter Felt is very effective and might require frequent cleanings depending on the volume of waterborne solid waste. Filter Felt is extremely durable and can be cleaned and reused several times.

Filter Carbon maximizes the removal of contaminants, helping to keep water clean and clearer. It is a coal-based carbon for use in decorative ponds and water gardens. Fast-acting and highly-activated, it can be used in all type filters to aggressively eliminate: odors, discoloration caused by tannis from decayed leaves, organic debris, pollutants, pesticides, detergents, and toxins, as well as medications, without releasing phosphates or causing unwanted growth. Filter carbon attracts pollutants which "stick" to it like a magnet.

Sera Super Activated Filter Carbon is highly active, absorbs pollutants from pond water quickly, and does not alter the pH value. Rinse carbon with water before using. Remove carbon from the filter before applying treatments. Place the carbon in the supplied filter media bag for easier handling.

The various densities can be used in sequence or separately for unique filtration requirements. This is one of the greatest characteristics which Matala has to offer. No other media on the market can perform this step-wise filtration. Matala effectively separates large particles to small and still maintains a very aerobic and free flow of water without channeling. Matala is slightly buoyant and will not sink to the bottom of your filter. Matala stood vertically on end will not float. Matala stacked horizontally will hold each other down. Due to it's rigidity the Matala can be wedged in place in the filter without support.

One sheet of Matala has the following characteristics:
