What is EDPM Pond Liner? EPDM rubber (ethylene propylene diene monomer rubber) is an elastomer which is characterized for a wide range of applications. EPDM rubber is used in vibrators and seals, glass-run channel, radiators, Pond Liner, garden and appliance hose, tubing, washers, belts, and electrical insulation. It is also used as a medium for water resistance such as roofing membranes and geomembranes. Other uses include rubber mechanical goods, plastic impact modification, thermoplastic, and as a motor oil additive. EPDM exhibits satisfactory compatibility with fireproof hydraulic fluids, ketones, hot and cold water, and alkalis. It is not compatible with most oils, gasoline, kerosene, and concentrated acids.
When your application requires rubber that withstands atmospheric conditions like ozone, sunlight, and oxidation, a general purpose EPDM rubber sheet will usually do the trick. EDPM Pond Liner is suitable for moderate exposure and can be cut to your requirements.
Figuring out what size liner or underlayment you need for your pond is pretty easy. All you need to know is the depth of the deepest area of your pond, the longest length of the surface of the pond, and the widest width of the surface of the pond. As an example, let’s calculate the pond liner size for a pond that is 8’ long, 12’ wide, and 2’ deep:
To find the length of pond liner needed–
Longest length + (2 x depth) + 2 extra feet = pond liner length
Our example pond liner length is 8’ + 4’ + 2’ = 14’ long.
To find the width of pond liner needed–
Longest width + (2 x depth) + 2 extra feet = pond liner width
Our example pond liner width is 12’ + 4’ + 2’ = 18’ wide.
You would need to order a pond liner that is at least 14' x 18' in size.

Pond underliner is a durable, clean, and safe material to install under ponds instead of using cardboard, newspapers, sand, or old carpet padding. This underliner is constructed of a nonwoven fabric. Use of this material under your liner will help protect the liner wall from punctures from stones and roots. Pond underlayment is easy to install.

Black foam is sprayed between rocks around waterfalls to create a watertight seal. Foam covers roughly 4 square ft. Seam tape has an adhesive front and back and is designed to join most pond liners together, (including TetraPond liners with Xavan by DuPont), EPDM rubber, and PVC liners. The cover tape is sticky only on one side for patching liners or to cover seams.

1/4" (6.3 mm) BEAD = 1760 ft. (536 m)
3/8" (9.5 mm) BEAD = 780 ft. (238 m)
1/2" (12.7 mm) BEAD = 440 ft. (134 m)
