A great combo for easy to set-up professional filtration. The Atlantic Skimmer is very ridged. Using this skimmer will make cleaning easier. The Atlantic unique weir design improves skimming action. The skimmer enclosure houses and hides almost any submersible pump. The extra wide basket and filter means much less maintenance. The Atlantic skimmer pre filters the water and protects against pump clog-up. The waterfall filters designed by Atlantic are up-flow filters. This means water flows from the pump into the filter through the bulkhead fitting and directly into the swirl chamber. Then the water goes through the grate and filter mat where solids are removed. For the final step, water flows through the media bag and filter material, and out over the spillway into your pond or stream. We recommend you fill the media bags with Savio SpringFlo, a great and inexpensive biological filter media. Using these items in conjunction with each other will provide great bio and mechanical filtration for most pond sizes and higher fish loads. A great deal!
